Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8/16/2026
Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Bright Capital America handles personal information when you use our website, applications, and related services (the "Platform").
Information we collect
- Account data: name, email, role, organization, contact details.
- Verification data: information you upload for identity, accreditation, or entity verification.
- Company and investor profile data: descriptions, financials, cap-table, KPIs, thesis, portfolio, and other information you choose to publish or share.
- Communications: messages, deal-room activity, notes, and reminders.
- Technical data: log data, device information, IP address, and analytics events.
How we use it
- Operate, secure, and improve the Platform.
- Match founders and investors, power search and AI features, and surface relevant opportunities.
- Verify identity and eligibility, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
- Communicate with you about your account, activity, and product updates.
Sharing
We share information with counterparties you explicitly grant access to (for example deal-room members, invited investors, or team members), with service providers who process data on our behalf, and where required by law or to protect the Platform. We do not sell personal information.
Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform, to comply with legal obligations, and to resolve disputes.
Newsletter subscriptions
Our newsletter is a separate mailing list and is not part of any paid plan. We only add an address after it is entered on our website and confirmed through a double opt-in email; we never subscribe accounts, investor-directory records, imported contacts, or paying customers automatically. We record the exact consent wording, the page, the source, and the date and time of consent and confirmation as proof of permission.
Every newsletter email identifies Bright Capital America, includes our business contact details, a one-click unsubscribe link, a link to manage topic preferences, and a link to this policy. Unsubscribing is free, requires no sign-in, takes effect immediately, and does not cancel or change a Bright Capital America account or a paid subscription.
Newsletter retention and deletion. Pending subscriptions that are never confirmed are deleted after 30 days. Confirmed subscriber records are kept while the subscription is active. After an unsubscribe we keep a minimal suppression record — the address and the unsubscribe date — indefinitely so the address is never re-imported or emailed again; consent and lifecycle history is kept for 24 months as compliance evidence and then deleted. You can request deletion of your newsletter record at any time by contacting support@brightcapital.fund; where a suppression record must remain, we retain only what is needed to honour your opt-out.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise these rights from your account settings or by contacting us.
International transfers
Bright Capital America operates globally. Personal information may be processed in jurisdictions other than your own. We use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers, such as standard contractual clauses where applicable.
Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No system is perfectly secure; you are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential.
